　佐世保市船越町の市亜熱帯動植物園で人気のツキノワグマ「元気」（雄）と「美海（みみ）」（雌）の成長を記録した「やんちゃ子グマがやってきた！」が出版された。
子グマのかわいらしさを描くとともに、自然保護の大切さを訴える内容。書店のほか園内の売店でも販売中で、売れ行き好調という。
「元気」は繁殖と保護を目的に１７日、福岡市動植物へ転園する。【山下誠吾】
　◇あんずゆきさん著

　著者は、児童文学作家のあんずゆきさん。テレビで子グマのことを知り、園のスタッフに取材しながら２年がかりでまとめた。

　２頭は現在２歳。０７年３月、長野県軽井沢町で保護され、園に引き取られた。当時はいずれもわずか７００グラムだったが、すでに６０キロに成長。
元気いっぱいにじゃれ合う姿が人気を呼んでいた。

　２頭の母グマは、住宅周辺にしばしば出没してトウモロコシ畑などを荒らし、人間に近くづくこともあったため駆除された。
ツキノワグマは元々は森林に住んでいるが、環境破壊で森に食べ物がなくなり人里近くに出てくるといった背景を通して、環境保護の大切さを訴えている。

　江頭光則園長は「自然の大切さを考えるきっかけになると思う。子グマが伝えるメッセージを、多くの人たちに受け取ってほしい」と話している。

　１２８ページ。写真を多く使い、漢字にはふりがなを付けて子供にも読みやすくしている。１２００円（税抜き）。
　◇「元気」は福岡へ　残る「美海」にパートナー

　「元気」の転園は２頭が近々、繁殖が可能になるとみられるため。１７日は福島県の鳥獣保護センターから美海のパートナーになる「豪詩（つよし）」を迎える。

　１３、１４の両日は来園者が見守る中、送別の催しがあり、サツマイモやリンゴなどで作られたケーキがきょうだいに贈られ、仲良く食べていた。
今年３月まで約１年間、元気と美海の飼育員だった市職員の米倉憲二さんは「うれしいような悲しいような複雑な気持ち。福岡に行っても、元気な人気者でいてほしい」と話していた。【野呂賢治】
